Not unusual: You appear, by your comment, to have regular periods. But one day each period you'll have very heavy flow. That's not unusual, & treatment can focus on relieving symptoms, like pain control, keeping the heavy flow from disrupting your activities, & screening for iron deficiency anemia from blood loss. If your periods are not regular, then a gynecologist can check for DUB. Hope that helps.
