Had drainage and tickly scratchy cough that comes in spells some are pretty potent sons got cold wife not yet but i noticed i've brought up some clear mucus streaked with bright red blood not a ton just scary, can i see if better on own or dr. now?

At this time I would regard this as a non serious viral upper respiratory tract infection that resolves on its own after a week or so. If you're experiencing a persistent rather harsh cough, take a cough suppressant like robitussinDM to prevent further irritation/ inflammation of the trachea which most likely is the source if mild blood expectoration. See your MD if coughing up blood persists.
