At this time I would regard this as a non serious viral upper respiratory tract infection that resolves on its own after a week or so. If you're experiencing a persistent rather harsh cough, take a cough suppressant like robitussinDM to prevent further irritation/ inflammation of the trachea which most likely is the source if mild blood expectoration. See your MD if coughing up blood persists.
