How do i treat an intercoastal muscle strain?swollen & pain.it is in the muscles below my breast. had clear xray and ct scan so not sure what to do.

Not much to do.: Usually these types of strains are self limiting but can last for three to six weeks, depending on severity. Intermittent cold applications to the area often times eases the pain. Rest and discontinuing of strenuous activity will certainly help. Medications like ibuprofen or muscle relaxants can also help. A trip to your physical therapist may be beneficial in speeding things up.
