A member asked:

Lymph nodes near my thyroid & side of my neck have been swollen for 7months high wbc and low rbc, ct showed no tumors, no infection, what could it be

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid possibly: Clearly your doctors need to rule out bad stuff, like lymphoma. But Hashimoto's thyroiditis is common in young women and can cause some inflammation of lymph nodes near by. Hashimoto's can be fairly silent, although there may be a goiter, and maybe hypothyroidism. Ultrasound is actually better than CT at evaluating the thyroid.
