A member asked:

Had perirectal surgeries 3x in last 3 mo..last one being thxgiving. he's in pain again w/low grade fever. dr put on stronger antibiotic. anything else?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See surgeon again.: The fever may indicate that there is still infection and pus that has not been drained. Continue antibiotics, warm soaks, and if continues, visit the surgeon for possible further incision and drainage. Also ask the surgeon whether the recurrent perirectal infection might indicate underlying inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease, and further GI evaluation is indicated.
