A member asked:

I am taking 10mg of citalopram for 3 months, and have 50mg of trazadone id like to try tonight. would this be safe? i have terrible insomnia and would like to perhaps switch from citalipram to trazadone if possible. i also take lunesta 3mg for 9 months.

Proceed with caution: Adding Trazadone to Citalopram and Lunesta (eszopiclone) may not have any major contraindications, but, some things to consider: 1. Consult prescribing provider, 2. Consider stopping Lunesta (eszopiclone) when starting Trazadone. 3. Consider taking Citalopram in morning only. 4. Most important, research non-medication treatments for insomnia as they are much more effective in the long run (though hard to implement at first).
