Could be infection: I always tell my patients to return to see me if they see anything unusual at the surgical site (unusual discharge - pus, green or thick yellow discharge, redness, increased pain or increased warmth). Those are all signs of infection, and it is best to be safe than sorry if you think there may be an infection there. If the stitch is infected it may need to be removed, however that is up to your Dr
