Fluid seepage: It is not uncommon to have a small amount of drainage from a surgical wound. If the amount is limited and does not soak more than a small dressing a few times a day, i would not be too concerned. However if the drainage is bright red and does not stop, you should call your surgeon for further instructions. Worsening abdominal pain, faintness and abdominal distention should also be watched for.

No big deal: Incisions can bleed for a short time after surgery. Keep the area clean and covered. If the drainage continues, talk to your surgeon.
