No: If it is a middle ear infection, rubbing alcohol will not do anything for the infection that is going on behind your ear drum.

What kind ?: Three areas of the ear can become infected. The inner or nerve, gets viral infections nothing will help. The middle gets bacterial and viral infections that might need antibiotics. Swimmers get canal (outer) infections that alcohol would just cause burning sensation. If it is a middle ear infection, the ear drum prevents alcohol from reaching it.
