Many causes: Acute onset of pain in middle upper abdomen can be caused by Peptic Ulcer Disease. Pancreatitis , Gall stones,Gastrtis,Esopagitis and ulcer. Stomach and Pancreatic Cancer. The only way you can find out is by consulting your doctor. Detailed History, Physical Exam and if indicated Endoscopy,Ultrasoung/Cat Scan etc.
