A member asked:

My wife is pregnant and i am concerned about superfetation occurring where a new baby is conceived but then unable to attach to the uterus wall, resulting in miscarriage. i know it is highly unlikely but is this a reasonable concern? thank you.

Very Very Rare: To say that Superfetation is rare is a gross understatement. There have been about 10 cases documented in all of the medical literature. Nearly all Ob/Gyns go through their entire careers without seeing a case. Being struck by lightning or winning the lottery is more common than superfetation. Its not something I would worry about! Best wishes!
