Time: Takes time for an implant to integrate before a crown can be placed. Even more time if a bone graft is required in the extraction site. Please seek examination with your Dentist who can examine you and then tell you exactly what your requirements will be. Know that replacing a missing tooth is a service, not a commodity, and therefore your requirements may be much different than your friend's.

Possibly: Dental implants and the time they require are case dependent. In some cases the dentist may restore a temporary crown immediately following the implant placement but normally there is a 3 to 4 months wait period for healing. In some other cases where there is severe bone loss or immediate extractions, the Surgoen may decide to graft the area first and wait for 3 to 4 months before implant placemen

Varies: It varies with the procedure, grafting, and preference of the surgeon. There is no one answer. 3 to 6 months is the range.

You are both right: Traditionally, there is a healing period after implant placement, before the crown is added. It usually takes several months, though it may be less than six. However, newer techniques allow a crown to be placed much more quickly, sometimes even the same day. Usually this is a provisional crown, which is later replaced with a permanent one.The best method depends on the specific details of each case

Optimal healing 4-6: After implant placement the upper jaw requires six months and the lower jaw four months for osseointegration. This protocol has a 96-98% success rate.

Average yes: It's not like it's gonna fail but the average for the upper is 6mo and the lower is 4mo before you can say you have "full stability"....some will push the envelope by a month or so as they test it's torque but I like predictability so I like to wait almost to the end of those times to restore for better predictability.
