What's the context.: Loss of smell could simply come from allergies, too. We can't take an isolated finding like the loss of the sense of smell and cal it a harbinger of death. But get her a check-up regardless.

Sense of Smell: There are MANY possible reasons for loss of smell. It can occur due to viruses, sinusitis, allergies, medications etc. We see it occur often with the current COVID 19 pandemic. In most situations, sense of smell returns. Loss of sense of taste and smell often occur together. If this is a chronic condition, consider medical evaluation.
