Asthmatic since birth. when i cough, i'm afraid i'm damaging windpipe. is that possible? lots of years of resp. infections. is this how you get copd?

See allergist: It is unusual for the cough to damage the windpipe although some microhemorrhage may occur with violent coughing. You should consider consulting an allergist to get your asthma better managed. And yes some people suffering from asthma may end up with COPD even in the absence of smoking- this is called ACOS.
