Punctured lung: Labored breathing and pain are the main symptoms. Chest x-ray will detect air around the lung.

Pain: Pneumothorax may occur in some young folks, or in older persons with copd. Sudden pain, shortness of breath may feel air in the soft tissue -crepitance, and or sore throat. Medical exam and x-ray to confirm and guide treatments.
