I had gasoline on my hands and washed them immediately with soapy water. they still smell a little. can the smell spread onto other objects i touch?

It can: It can, and so can the oily residue that gas leaves behind. Try first rinsing/washing your hands with white vinegar then washing with warm soapy water.

Unlikely: The smell will tend to stay on your hands but unless there is gasoline on your hands it will not transfer to another object or person. However the smell tends to stay around until it wears off but using some good moisturizing creams or some with fragrance will tame down the smell. I hope this is answering your question.
