A member asked:

Got a broken toe and been told by a doctor that it does need any sort of immobilisation or foot support to help with the healing. is that right?

Broken toe: Your doctor is wrong. There are specialists who will examine your toe and begin appropriate care. There are foot specialists who will do this well. Please go on line and try and find a foot specialist near you and/or ask a friend to recommend someone. Things will go well.

Get another opinion.: Whether or not your toe needs some type of splinting can only be determined after an examination by a specialist who treats toe fractures. Most of these types of fractures need some type of immobilization for a while. Most but not all. When in doubt, seek another opinion.
