A member asked:

I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes recently, iam 19 years old a bit scared now haw can i improve my health? what are the care to be taken??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to say: Type 2 generally applies to people whose weight/body mass is to large for the insulin production capacity of their body. There are certainly other factors but this is the big one. Adapting to a low carbohydrate diet and losing some weight can in some eliminate the need for medications as your moment to moment insulin need declines. Discuss this with your doc to see if other measures are needed.
