Intestinal virus: Often sensations around the mouth and throat are forerunners of vomiting. A viral gastrointestinal infection usually clears in several days without specific treatment except for rest, adequate fluid intake including flat ginger ale, bland,low fat diet. Saltine crackers and light soups or broths are good to start with. Diarrhea may follow and take kaopectate (kaolin and pectin) as needed to control it.
