Calcification: Calcified blockage of the Parotid Gland duct is not unusual, and may even perforate the duct. Calcification should be removed. Antibiotic coverage is common practice, and your treating Dentist or preferably Oral Surgeon is the best one to decide the effectiveness of the antibiotics prescribed depending upon your response to the Meds.

Cephalexin is more: effective, because Cephalexin works on most of the same bacteria as amoxicillin, plus is stronger against Staph aureus, which most frequently causes salivary gland is infection.
