Probably not, since : he needs to ask his primary doctor for referral to a psychiatrist & a psychologist for accurate diagnosis of his Anxiety Disorder(s) & receive Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for them or Exposure Therapy for his " mop phobia" + anti-anxiety medications, if needed. SSI requires documentation that a patient has a severe psychiatric disorder that has been refractory to multiple treatment regimens.

Phobia, Anxiety: Please have your friend reflect: Is fear of mops and mopping floors marked and persistent? Does the fear come by presence or anticipation of mops and mopping floors? Does exposure to mops and mopping floors provokes immediate anxiety or panic? Is Phobia affecting job, social activities and relationships? After this, see a Psychiatrist for Diagnosis, disability determination and Therapy.
