Yes...: Female athletes are more likely to have ovulation and menstruation disorders that effect conception (esp runners, gymnasts, ballet dancers). With intense training schedules and limits on caloric intake, women can be vulnerable to female athlete triad: disordered eating, amenorrhea and osteoporosis. Periods can stop when your body no longer makes estrogen to produce eggs (hypothalamic amenorrhea).
