PPI Taper: Usually, patients take maintenance Proton Pump Inhibitor therapy for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) for life. GERD is a persistent condition which does not go away. It is safe to alternate a ppi and Pepcid ac, every other day? I am trying to taper off the PPI as instructed by my doctor but with acid rebound I am nervous. So is it safe to alternate those every other day?
