Saphenous ablation.: The symptoms that you describe are normal post ablation. The ablation closes the leaking saphenous valves and the vein constricts over time. You will feel pulling and tightness that could last as long as several months. The small bump will smooth out in time. Wet warm compresses to the area and ibuprofen will also help.

Not atypical: Yes, this is not atypical. The pulling sensation is the "dead vein" beneath the surface turning into scar tissue and stretching as you move your leg. The tenderness is also the inflammed dead vein beneath the surface. The small bump is likely some scar tissue and maybe a little blood beneath the surface. All of these things should resolve with a little more time. A follow up ultrasound is wise.
