Well-rounded studies: Obviously you want to take high school courses that will allow you to get into a good college. But study not just science but humanities and arts; playing music is good for brain development and it is useful to study Spanish. Do volunteer work that allows you to help people in need; it does not have to be directly related to health. Eat a healthy diet and stay physically fit. Good luck!

Study what you love!: As a HS student, your primary goal is to get into the best university you can. This means excelling at your HS classes and taking AP classes whenever you feel that you could do really well in them. Low grades are harmful, so take courses you love. In college, major in something you really enjoy, because you will perform better. Shadow an MD who can show you the + & - of being a doc.
