Not a good UTI drug: Cefixime is rarely recommended for UTI; UTI bacteria often are resistant to it. Even if cefixime worked for past UTI you had, it may not be effective and is not reliable this time. The more severe the symptoms, the more important to be sure of the diagnosis and get proper treatment. Do not try to treat yourself; see your doctor ASAP and follow her or his advice.
