See a doctor: Bartholin gland cysts / abscesses develop in approximately 2 percent of all women. Asymptomatic cysts in patients under age 40 may not require treatment, however, there are a number of vulvar + vaginal lesions that can mimic a cyst / abscess. Although vulvar cancer is rare, especially in a menstruating woman, a bleeding Bartholin cyst requires evaluation by your MD ASAP with a likely biopsy.
