Is it true that if one has hypertension that no bp med will prevent white coat hypertension and that this resolves spontaneously without intervention?

Yes but ideally you: would like to be certain that you have only white coat hypertension by obtaining a long term home monitor for a month or so. You would not want to miss and leave untreated other causes of hypertension.
