Proper measurement: First check cuff size: a cuff bladder should encircle 80% of the arm. If it is too large/small, readings are inaccurate. Also: be seated in a chair with good back support. The arm should be bare and supported at the heart level. Rest 5 minutes before measuring. Caffeine/stimulants/tobacco should be avoided 30 minutes before measurement. Consider seeing a physician for consistent arm differences.

BP: As long as there is no underlying reason for using one arm, such as breast surgery, or coarctation of the aorta ,either arm is fine as long as the cuff fits properly and you use the same arm to compare. All the best.
