Aortic valve leak: If severe aortic valve regurgitation is present, it will often cause widening of the pulse pressure; the difference between the systolic (top) and diastolic (bottom) blood pressure values will increase. This may or may not be perceived by the patient. As w/ most cardiac conditions, it is likely to be more symptomatic w/ strenuous activity. Diagnosis requires physical exam +/-echocardiography.
