Growing teens: Teens gain about 20% of adult height and 50% of adult weight during adolescence -- so it's a big growth spurt time. Adolescent boys need 2, 500-2, 800 per day, while girls need around 2, 200 per day -- provided in the form of lean proteins, healthy fats, complex carbs, and plenty of fruits & veggies. 40-60 g protein/day for teens -- and don't forget iron & calcium. Snacks like bakes fries, etc.
