Recurrent UTI...: If urinalysis was after Bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) you have resistant bacteria, need different antibiotic. Several possible causes of recurrent UTI, including persistent uncured infection; altered bladder function; and kidney or bladder stone. Sex sometimes triggers UTI. Usually recurrences can be prevented once the cause is known. Discuss with your doctor, or ask for referral to infectious diseases specialist.
