I wouldn't recommend: Xanax (alprazolam) is sedating. Taking it with any pain pill with opiate type medication, only increases your risk of sedation. Many people have accidentally overdose by doing this. If you need to take a pain pill, wait at least 12-24 hours before you use a Xanax (alprazolam), even then, it still may not be safe to take the Xanax (alprazolam). I wouldn't recommend using both medicines while you need to use pain pills.

Medication effects: Thank you for information about back pain. Lortab is a narcotic with many side effects and habit forming. Using Xanax (alprazolam) with Lortab may increase dizziness and difficulty concentrating. Some people may experience impairment in thinking and judgment. See Orthopedic Physician for Diagnosis of back pain, have MRI and treatment. See Psychiatrist for Therapy for stresses and Pain management program
