Different use: I am not sure for what you were prescribed the azithromycin. This is an unusual treatment course and not sure why but the medicine does build up in your system and last several days to continue to protect you when you have stopped taking it. Whether this is the reason I can not be sure and you would have to check with your provider to be sure.
