I was prescribed azithromycin yesterday for abnormal discharge as well as an odor. it said on the bottle take four tablets once daily. my pharmacist told me to take all four in one day. i took it yesterday but i still haven't noticed a change. ?

STD? BV? Trich?: The most common causes of vaginal discharge with odor are bacterial vaginosis and the STD trichomonas. Neither of these is effectively treated with azithromycin. Perhaps you have something else. If you have tested positive for chlamydia, the normal treatment is just one dose of azithromycin, 2 grams (4 tablets, 250 mg each). It takes a few days for symptoms to clear up. Check with your doctor.
