Is it normal for a unilateral pars fracture to become bilateral over a few months?? what could cause this? is spondylolysis a serious back problem?

No...: More likely you had bilateral fractures. How was the diagnosis made? It is possible that the other fracture was missed initially. Did you have a second injury? How did you injure your back? History of what happened can be helpful. Non displaced pars fractures are sometimes missed on the xrays.
