Barely high: Overall the Hct of 47.7 is not much higher than the upper limit of normal, about 45.5 for an adult man. If you smoke, stop. Do you have sleep apnea? Smoking and sleep apnea are two common causes that can raise it. The MCV though is a different story, and is reflective of altered production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. I recommend you see a hematologist to sort this out. Be well.
