Running: You will expend more calories and use a wider array of muscles from running 5 miles per day then cycling 10 miles. Of course running is harder on the joints and is more likely to get you to needing an orthopedic surgeon later in life. All exercise should be done thoughtfully and carefully. Also consider the differences if your goal is not condition but weight loss.
