A member asked:

Hi . i am 65 and love running .i run 5km every day wearing a health watch. my question is my hart rate goes up to 167 is this harmful to my hart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Heart rate : It can be perfectly normal and expected that a healthy someone's heart rate goes up to 167 while running. One would expect it to then go down (60-100) when resting. It would not be expected if the person is on medications that slow the heart rate like beta-blockers. The answer specific to your concerns and health requires an in-person examination
