"Amoxicillin rash" : was found in 80-100% of children & teens with EBV Infectious Mononucleosis who were given Amoxicillin in the 1960's; now the incidence is said to be ~ 30%. Your doctor can examine you & order all needed lab tests to determine the cause of your current symptoms, including a Quick-Strep Test or throat culture, before treating you. Document your temperatures & other symptoms before your visit.

Today-not likely: Amoxicillin does produce a classical rash when given during EB virus mono in about 30% of people. If you had EBV mono then, you are immune to it. Fever/sore throat/swollen glands/aches & pains are common symptoms to a variety of viruses and strep.
