Not normal: If the home test is based on antigen detection, the test usually reverts to negative about a day after penicillin is started. In some documented cases, the positive test persists long after cultures become negative (so positive test despite effective treatment. This may be caused by antigen from another non-harmful microbe (not the strep) that is present. Short answer, would not worry/stop tests.
