A member asked:

Does dramamine (dimenhydrinate) help prevent nausea/vomiting from stomach bug? one doctor said it does but another said it doesn't...?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Dimenhydrinate is used primarily to PREVENT motion sickness. You take it about 30 minutes before the perceived precipitating event. The only off-label indication for this medication is to prevent the nausea and vomiting associated with first-trimester pregnancy, also known as "morning sickness" to many women.
