A member asked:

Can gingivostomatotis keep reoccuring in infant under 2?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info...: Gingivostomatitis in infants is often caused by common viruses (for example, the virus that causes hand-foot-mouth disease) or from mild trauma, and can recur if reinfected or with additional irritation. You should definitely see your doctor, though, if they happen very often, or there are other symptoms like rash, swollen lymph nodes, poor liquid intake, or a fever, or last longer than 2 weeks.
