The : The only situations I have heard of anyone choking from mucous is in an elderly person that lived alone and was not able to clear their airway by coughing, however this is very rare. What medication are you allergic to? If you have a bronchitis or pneumonia you may need antibiotics, there are many to choose from if allergies are a concern. Drinking water will help thin the mucous secretions along with a daily anti-histamine. I suggest you go back to your doctor for alternative treatment options. Best of luck.
