It's unlikely that: ...you're still contagious. The cold sore might have caused temporary loss of skin pigment but that's a residual effect, not a sign that the virus is still active. Your skin should heal in due time. I appreciate your concern about the possibility of still being contagious, but you aren't. Dr. Anne.
