Restrictions after: Cataract surgery generally includes not bending, no lifting heavy objects ( over 10lbs), no straining, and no strenuous exercise. Also, your eye doctor will let you know when it is safe to drive again. It's probably a safe bet to take the day of and after surgery off from school. But this will depend on your recovery, and your doctor will be able to update you on the restrictions with each visit.

Recovery after CS: Most eye MDs see patients 1day, 1 week, 1 month, 3-6mo, 1 year after cataract surgery. Depending on pre-surgery risks & other surgical factors (was laser surgery used, was there any complication, excess iris manipulation or energy needed), most patients can go back to school/work in 2-5days: as long as using drops, no bending, lifting, heavy straining needed.
