Normal: This is called borborygmi. It is normal. It indicates that peristalsis is taking place, and that your GI tract is moving things on down the line. If you develop dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal PAIN, or a change in bowel habits or appearance of stool, I would visit your doctor. Increased bowel sounds on exam with these symptoms present may indicate disease.
