Excessive gas : If food is not adequately digested, especially carbohydrates, it can lead to excessive gas from interaction of the sugar and the bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. An acute GI bug can cause similar symptoms. Taking digestive enzymes with meals can help as can probiotics, which help correct any gut bacteria imbalances. Diet changes may be needed if problem persists.
