I would imagine: It could still be painful, but the pain should be easing day to day and it should no longer be intense. Is it relieved by pain meds? You need to let your surgeon know as there are many reasons one can have pain...I.e, bandage too tight, hematoma, fixation problem , nerve entrapment, etc etc...

Not consistent.: The surgical repair can sometimes be as painful, or even more painful, than the actual fracture. As Dr. Kass mentioned, the pain should be reducing with time. Stick to your post operative and fracture care instructions and let your surgeon know your concerns. Pain is a subjective perception and cannot be predicted to perfection. How long and how much, any one individual will experience can vary.
