Stress fracture: A stress fracture of the metatarsal bone should take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to heal. The fracture should be immobilized in a walking boot during the healing time. If the fracture has not healed a bone stimulator maybe needed to induce bone healing. Also an MRI should be ordered.
